Standing for Every Child: “Mukh Bharat Free Child Marriage India” Awareness Drive

Year: 2024–25
Organized by: Integrated Rural Management Association (IRMA)
Date: 27th November 2024
Venue: Phaijang Relief Camp, Manipur

A Step Toward a Safer, Fairer Future

On 27th November 2024, the Phaijang Relief Camp in Manipur became the site of a powerful and purpose-driven gathering—an event under the national movement “Mukh Bharat Free Child Marriage India”, aligning with a live address by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The aim was clear: to raise awareness and inspire collective action against the deep-rooted social evil of child marriage.

Background: Voices Rising from the Margins

Held in the heart of a community grappling with displacement due to the May 3rd, 2023 ethnic conflict, the event brought together camp residents and volunteers in a unified stand for children’s rights. The Phaijang Relief Camp, which shelters many displaced Kuki families, served as a poignant reminder of how crises affect the most vulnerable—especially children.

Organized by the Community, for the Community

The awareness drive was spearheaded by volunteers from the Youth Forum, an initiative of IRMA, in collaboration with camp residents. This partnership symbolized grassroots commitment and local ownership in championing social reform.
